Why are there so many people in Spain who study English and so few who can speak a language properly?

Learning a language doesn´t mean studying or passing an exam … using a metaphor…IT IS LIKE HAVING A GOOD FRIEND:

  1. Important emotional charge (you are not always in your “better mood”)
  2. It is very positive sharing in all areas of your life, work, travels, holidays, weekends,..
  3. And above all, it is important to feel that it is always there with you.

I will explain it better:

  1. There are times in your life when you are very open to use a language, reading, listening, etc … but I assure you that you will also have moments when you will think “I am not good at this” or “I feel too embarrassed to talk”, etc … In these moments you will need a good teacher who will take you by the hand and guide you to continue … This type of “crisis” is very necessary for your progress in the language. Many people “abandon” after the first one, because they don´t understand how useful it can be.
  2. When you learn a language, and I do not mean to study it, you want to use it for everything, for work, to communicate with friends, colleagues or people you do not even know. You want to share … In Spain there is a tendency to want to learn a language for “something” very specific or for a couple of areas (work and travel or read technical information and communicate work). The goal is to use the language for everything you like doing. If you love movies, you watch movies in that language. If you like organic cooking blogs, then you use the vast range of information on the subject. If you like to meet people through applications, you broaden horizons by using that language. If you are a blogger, youtuber, influencer …, then upload videos in English and expand your “likes” crossing borders … Why limit yourself?
  3. English, for example, is ALWAYS with you … It is the international language for business, for communications … You can always have first-hand news by accessing directly to the source, without going through filters. You can use it to expand your professional projection. In this way, using this language or another language that is not yours will become more NATURAL … That’s the key!
